Carriers have a variety of special services that add additonal fees, and our calcluator allows you to account for these special features.  Included in this category are fees for uniquely sized or hazardous items, various Proof of Delivery  and Signature Required services, and a host of others specific to particular carriers.  A sampling:

Hazardous Items

Use this service to indicate that the item is considered a hazardous material. The carriers access an additional fee for handling hazardous materials. Each carrier has their own classification of what materials are hazardous. (You should check with your carrier before shipping these types of items.)

Proof of Delivery

The P.O.D. service is used to receive physical proof of delivery from the recipient by the carrier. The carriers may offer various mediums by which the document is delivered.

Signature Required

The Signature Required service is used to instruct the carrier to obtain the recipient's signature.
